Hey Friends!!

It is Day 9 of the New Year. Almost two weeks in and I am curious to see how your fitness goals are going.

I know the feeling of things not going as planned. Snow days, delayed school openings, pipes freezing, heat breaking... SICKNESS!  I have experienced and heard of all of these.
Here are my personal best ways of firing up that motivation:

1. Take a BEFORE Picture. I Swear by this and do this personally and for all our clients at the gym. (btw, clients - 1st pictures of 2018, I need updates! look at the white board for more details)
2. Phone a friend. Be accountable. Share your goals and make sure someone keeps up with you. Clients - we'll be texting those who don't show up for reserved classes. If you have gone MIA - keep a look out for us!
3. Join a challenge. Either with us (next one is coming up!) something sort of program that will step it up a notch for you with accountability to hold your hand to launch you into this. Because ..... brings me into #4
4. RESULTS! When we start to see results - the energy is high, you know what you are doing is working and motivation is at an all time high.
5, Make fun playlists - Doing cardio at home? Come up with a playlist that you look forward to sweating to. OR one you'll play on the way to the gym. Clients - share with us your playlists! We'll be happy to play them!
6. Find new recipes. Look up some new things you are excited to make and try with the family. Sometimes we just need to switch it up from the normal chicken taco night to something new and exciting! (Tuesday night is taco night right?) ;)
7. Write down your goal and then make small goals that will help your each this goal. Not sure how to do this? This is one my favorite things to do! . . . PLAN! I can help.
8. Change your screen savers on your phone and computer to your goal. Perhaps even your Picture you took. YES! I am seriousOut of sight, is out of mind! This stuff works... My personal promise.
9. Keep a journal. Write it down because the next time you need some motivation - you can refer back to this. Also, it is good to complain and get it out and then close the book or turn the page on those feelings.
9.5 (Trainer counting) Cinch in that diet. If for some reason you are injured or sick. Eating a very clean diet is ... (you have heard this) so important. I find in injuries and sickness, making sure foods are clean and healthly can help heal faster.
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” -Hippocrates
10. STOP THINKING. I may rant here because I feel this one is HUGE! Sometimes we just spend too much time thinking about why we can't when we just need to STOP and just make it happen.

I have struggled with this. yes you may have a million things you can do beside your workout. But here is the deal... say that day after day and that leads to month after month. Before you know it - it is "how did I get here?" and I don't say this at you, I say this with you because... I HAVE BEEN THERE!  It is best to just stop and make it happen.

1 step in front of the other and after time you will get back into the groove again. You'll feel better and start seeing results but getting started again.... IS one of the hardest parts.

JUST START and commit today. THIS IS THE TIME!!!
